  • Enterprise-class managed hosting services provider Windstream Hosted Solutions has launched its second-generation cloud computing platform. The platform incorporates technology enhancements to Windstream Hosted Solutions’ existing cloud services offering, including services from VMware, NetApp and EMC to provide a service that can serve businesses’ production and disaster recovery requirements.
  • The second generation cloud project is an blend of technology enhancements to the Windstream cloud services offering. Windstream Hosted Solutions offers a ‘Hi-Touch’ consultative approach while providing self-service capacities through the use of VMware vCloud Director, custom RTO/RPO capacities utilising NetApp SnapMirror, EMC RecoverPoint, all working together with VCE Vblock compute. These capacities, combined with the power of the Windstream network, provide a cloud computing experience for customers.
  • Clients taking utility of Windstream Hosted Solutions’ cloud services are also able to use MPLS networking.
  • Windstream Hosted Solutions launched its cloud capacity at its Charlotte facility in response to the increased demand from prospects and clients for hybrid cloud connectivity. Windstream plans several more deployments across the country in early 2012.

Ask, “To what point in time does the data need to be restored?
  • Determine which business processes should be backed up most frequently. IT solution providers can create a customized tiered system within the cloud that can more frequently backup certain applications. Traditional backup doesn’t generally provide that level of customization.
